We believe that all businesses have an ethical responsibility to do what they can to ensure a thriving, sustainable world – this is why we make this public commitment to Sustainability and ESG.

At Profyle Card, we want to do what we can to address the challenges facing our people and planet without adding to them. That’s why we are committed to constantly review how we  respond to, and embed, Sustainability and ESG into our business in a responsible way. 

We understand it requires continuous effort and commitment over a long term to fully embed Sustainability and ESG into how we do business. However, we started the business with this in mind and continue to make sustained improvements year on year.

How we are doing it
In 2020 we created and launched Profyle Card to the world with the goal of reducing wasteful single-use paper business/contact cards with a more reliable, reusable and environmentally friendly solution.

Looking forward
On top of all of this, we are continually looking for and testing new ways to reduce, recycle and remove single-use or plastic packaging.

We are constantly researching and working with our suppliers to find new innovative production solutions to aid us in areas such as carbon footprint reduction to the complete removal of non-recyclable and non-recycled materials by the end of 2021 if not sooner.

Our 2024 goals

• Maintain our accreditation as a Carbon Neutral Business
• Begin our journey to become a B-Corp certified business
• Launch our “Digital Only” Business Card, eliminating the necessity for a physical business card for businesses that wish to fully embrace a digital solution ✅
• Work with our delivery partners to find lower carbon delivery options
• Begin to collect ESG impact information from our customers to aid with product development ✅
• Implement a card recycling programme for all our customers ✅

• Maintain our accreditation as a Carbon Neutral Business ✅
• Investigate other NFC card material options and assess their sustainability credentials ✅

Our 2022 goals

• Become accredited as a Carbon Neutral Business ✅
• Help our customers to demonstrate and achieve carbon reduction goals ✅
• Remove all single-use plastic from our packaging ✅

Our 2021 goals

• Move all card production to 100% recycled PVC by Q2 2021 ✅
• All our packaging to be 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable ✅

Profyle Card is Carbon Neutral

Profyle Card is certified as a Carbon Neutral business by Carbon Neutral Britain. This means that any carbon emissions we are unable to reduce and avoid are calculated and offset via carbon offsetting projects which are regulated through the Verra – Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the Gold Standard – Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) and the United Nations – Certified Emission Reductions (CER) programmes. 

As part of our certification, we also develop an annual Carbon Reduction Plan inline with Science Based Targets and the UK Government Requirements for Carbon Reduction Planning.
